According to Mr. Moses Abora Abia “working with community-based organizations and rural people is the best way to share and enhance resources and abilities for the common good.” Therefore he designs and carries out regular training courses for rural communities on environmental protection, forestry development, erosion control, income generating programs, and fundraising. Furthermore he himself actively raises funds and provides practical support for enhancement projects such as well construction in remote areas and livestock production. At ARI Moses wants to gain new ideas and experiences in rural leadership and community organizing, to broaden his professional knowledge and rural development skills and to get a better basic understanding about concepts of leadership including how to organize rural communities or conduct adult education programs. |

NGO Frank-Link Associates
Established in 1992, the indigenous NGO Frank-Link Associates works to lighten the burdens of the disadvantaged through sustainable solutions involving partnership and cooperation with the people. They regularly invite local farmers, community leaders and representatives of community-based organizations to attend advanced courses in areas such as traditional knowledge, self-development, management of natural resources, conflict resolution, and environmental pollution. They discuss causes and effects of community problems and try to find and realize solutions together with the participation of all. In addition to these activities, Frank-Link Associates also carry out their own projects such as installing pumps, pulleys, and latrines; erosion control and funding income generating programs
