Work |
Ms. Wiyata Nimley Johnson supervises the activities and programs of the Community Women’s Training Center (CWTC). The CWTC is a basic skills training center founded to counsel and train war affected women, high school drop-out girls, vulnerable women, and abused girls. The center teaches classes in pastry making, soap making, tie-dying, cosmetology, tailoring, and even and carpentry. Mrs. Johnson’s work includes providing psycho-social counseling, adult literacy classes, and basic health. Ms. Nimley is interested in the revitalization of livestock production in Liberia. During the war all livestock was consumed quickly by the starving masses, thus devastating the industry. Focusing on her own community in Montserrado, she hopes to start small animal husbandry projects. After ARI graduation Ms. Johnson wishes to work with war affected people concentrating on agriculturalal development by introducing new techniques in integrated organic farming and leadership and thus fostering cooperation among rural people. |
