Mrs. Naw Lee Myar is a 1998 graduate from the Asian Rural Institute. A widow with three children, she currently she works as a Women’s Secretary with the Kayah Hpu Baptist Association, where she has served for over thirteen years.  Naw works with over 1,000 families living in remote communities close to the Thai border, where she emphasizes holistic development for women, both spiritually and physically. She conducts Bible study groups and organizes fellowship programs to help build a close-knit community for women. Moreover, she holds development awareness programs on sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry and home gardening to provide healthy food for everyone.

In addition to these activities, Naw helped build a women’s dormitory for the Kayah Hpu Baptist Association so that young girls could come to Loikaw to study. The dormitory (completed in 2002) was built by Baptist women, setting aside a portion of their farm products to pay for construction costs. Now women and young girls from remote areas have a safe temporary home while they are studying at the Kayah Hpu Baptist Association.
