Working Visitor - General Information If you feel that you want to work and live together with people from many different countries AND want to stay less than 60 days, why don't you come to work at ARI as a volunteer? For people who want to stay more than 60 days, please go to ‘Volunteer.” You are invited to visit ARI at any time, although we do ask for visitors to try not to schedule a trip to our campus during the month of April when our new participants are getting adjusted to campus and the training program. Even if you can only make it for part of the day, we would be delighted to share our food and talk with you. Please call in advance so we can make sure to set up a tour for you. Visitors who stay for a meal are asked to pay 700 yen for breakfast, lunch or supper.

Work Camp Program ARI provides a very unique opportunity for young Japanese people through our work camp program. We invite groups of all sizes to come and join us in our daily farm work and thus have the experience of working together and communicating with all the members of our international community. This is especially meaningful to youth who have grown up in urban areas, many of which have never seen a real goat or used a shovel. They have the chance to gain many new experiences, which truly impact their lives. Some examples of the work they do are working in the fields, milking cows, gathering eggs, and even butchering chickens. Furthermore, they have the opportunity to communicate and learn from people from all over the world, by working and eating meals together and generally just spending time with them. It is an amazing opportunity for these kids to broaden their world outlook without even leaving Japan. Each year ARI receives 800 to 1000 work campers from schools and organizations such as Tokyo University, Meiji Gakuin University, Aoyama Gakuin University, Utsunomiya University, YMCA, Global Citizen Society, JOCV, etc. Kanda University of International Studies Habitat for Humanity circle participated in a work camp for 3 days and 2 nights. Various groups from YMCA, SCF, ICU (International Christian University), etc. plan work camps and visit ARI. You could join them, or you could plan work camps with your friends.
